Founder of Joleena Louis Law
Joleena Louis is the founder of Joleena Louis Law in New York City, New York. She received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toledo and her Doctorate of Jurisprudence from Hofstra University School of Law. Joleena’s law practice focuses on divorce, child custody, child support, and marital agreements.
Joleena also writes a weekly column at the Law Firm Suites Blog called “Things I Wish I Knew,” which chronicles my solo journey. She is a fierce advocate of lawyer entrepreneurship and I teach other lawyers how to start and grow their law firms through my Modern Solo blog.
Prior to hanging her own shingle and starting her law practice, Joleena was an Associate at Monaco and Monaco, LLP in Brooklyn, New York. As Joleena moved forward in her career, she realized that doing much of the firm’s work at Monaco without being compensated accordingly was interfering with her ability to effectively serve the needs of her clients. Joleena says the best piece of advice she received when she was considering going solo was a simple question: “Why are you working so hard to build someone else’s dream when you could be building your own?”
